The Black Shield Police Association

---

Last Saturday, the Black Shield Police Association was proud to attend the Our Voices Matter discussion forum on "Toxic Masculinity."

This forum was led by Pipeline Leader & AmeriCorps member Chenoa Miller and students from Paul Dunbar Elementary School recited a poem written by Gerard McClain.

This monthly series engages youth in a process to help youth identify issues that they care about, while developing strategies towards a positive solution. Students meet with P.O. Hall, the police liaison to Our Voices Matter.

These students also learn how to engage in Project ECHO, a revolutionary model which aims to reduce health disparities and positively impact urban communities; this is a partnership with University of New Mexico and Baldwin Wallace College.

This was a highly informative and well-received event.
